What is a TPI Evaluation?

A TPI golf evaluation is a comprehensive physical and movement assessment created by the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) to identify how your body influences your golf swing.

Movement Screening

This is the core of a TPI evaluation. You’ll go through 12–15 movement tests that assess:

  • Mobility (hips, shoulders, thoracic spine, ankles)

  • Stability (core, glutes, scapular control)

  • Balance

  • Motor control

  • Functional movement patterns important for the golf swing

These tests help identify whether your body can get into and maintain positions needed for an efficient, repeatable swing.

Common Swing Characteristics TPI screens for:

• Early extension

• Loss of posture

• Sway / slide

• Reverse spine angle

• Chicken wing

• Casting

Personalized Plan Based on Your Body-Swing Connection

At the end, you receive a breakdown of:

  • Mobility restrictions

  • Stability weaknesses

  • Compensation patterns in your swing

  • Injury-risk areas

  • A tailored training plan (mobility, stability, strength, or power)

Why It Matters

A TPI evaluation helps you:

  • Improve swing efficiency

  • Increase distance and clubhead speed

  • Reduce or prevent pain (low back, elbow, shoulder, hips, knees, etc.)

  • Train with a clear purpose

  • Understand exactly what your body needs for your swing style
